George F. Eaton II

GEORGE F. EATON II is a native of Bangor. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College, magna cum laude, where he was a James Bowdoin Scholar, and a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, cum laude, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review. George served as Law Clerk to Justice David G. Roberts of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He has focused his practice in business and corporate law for twenty-five years, and he is a past Chairperson of the Business Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association. He has been recognized for several years as a leading corporate lawyer in Chambers USA and in America’s Best Lawyers.  He has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Bangor Public Library, the Bangor YMCA, Affiliated Healthcare Services, the Bangor Water District, and the Bangor School Committee.  George is a member of the Board of Directors of Bangor Savings Bank and is a member of the Board of Trustees of its mutual holding company corporate parent.   He is a past chair of the Eastern Maine Medical Center Board of Trustees and is current chair of Eastern Maine Medical Center’s parent Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. He is a charter member and past president of the Bangor Breakfast Rotary Club, and is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.  George served as the Campaign Chair for the 2008 United Way of Eastern Maine campaign.  George was the recipient of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce 2009 Community Service Award.  He is a Managing Director of Starboard Leadership Consulting, LLC, a subsidiary of Rudman & Winchell which provides consulting services to nonprofit organizations and family owned businesses. In their free time, George and his family enjoy sailing on the Maine coast during the warm weather months and skiing in the mountains of western Maine during the snow season.
